Our vision for Hāwea Domain

Hāwea Domain is a large-scale, open-space rural recreation reserve serving the wellbeing of the Hāwea communities, the wider district, and visitors. Our vision is for it to be Hāwea's equivalent of Christchurch's Hagley Park — a place for sports fields, dog walking, sitting under the trees, and simply enjoying the outdoors.

Development will always be guided by one principle: breathing space. There is no intention for intensive development, paid car parks, or anything that would diminish the Domain's peaceful, rural character.
